I attended a retreat about two years ago where this pattern was featured by the hosting store owner. We were all provided the pattern and a couple of batik squares to make a block so we found out how much fun this block can be. I raided my stash to make a king sized quilt for my son and daughter-in-law and surprised them for their anniversary. For each block I used one square of Kaffe fabric with one of a true black, and added a black and white sashing to let the eye rest a bit. My kids were very happy with the quilt, and I’m contemplating another in the near future.
