FamFest 2024
What a week! FamFest came to a close this past Monday. This was the most jam packed FamFest yet! We had classes with fabulous guest instructors Nina Clotfelter and Teresa Coates, a very special tour of Paisley Park, VIP Make-and-Takes, an evening with Gudrun and Mr. HP, and of course, the best tent sale EVER!
To start off our FamFest week, we had the incredibly talented Nina Clotfelter offering classes on free motion quilting and ruler work on domestic machines! She is a wonderful teacher and her classes were so informative.
We also had the fun and vibrant Teresa Coates visit GE Designs to teach her Elemental Coat pattern. She is so patient, kind, and is an absolute expert how how to make this coat look amazing on every body!
For those who don't know, Mr. HP is a former employee and was a very close friend of the one-and-only Prince. Mr. HP took a lucky group on a tour of Paisley Park where he was able to share not only his extensive knowledge, but also very special memories of Prince.
Our VIPs had a great Make-and-Take opportunity where Coleen showed them how to make the perfect lanyard phone pouch. Later that night they attended An Evening with Gudrun and Mr. HP at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater! Gudrun gave an excellent presentation showing off her very first quilts along with her newest ones. It was a great way to see her quilt journey and also how much the quilting industry has changed.
And on Saturday we celebrated our 3rd annual GE Designs Tent Sale! It was such a good time! In addition to seeing and meeting our customers, we had food trucks, a raffle, various vendors, English Paper Piecing tutorials, presentations from Gudrun, demos from Nina and Teresa, and of course, absolute steals on fabric!
